We've been featured in GQ, Uncrate, Hypebeast, Highsnobiety, WWD and that's all in the first 3 days. It's early but we feel good about how GREATS has gotten of the blocks.

What are the key factors that have helped your store be successful?

GREATS is a startup so we don't have any money for marketing. We did however start building a community of followers across social channels and focused on instagram.

GREATS is very focused on design and experience and we began posting photos of things that inspired us, it became a mood board that showed people what the GREATS dna looks like and we didn't even have our own products yet.

From May 8th when we posted our first photo to now we've built an audience of 8,400+ followers. We've got a long way to go but working from that starting point helped a lot when we actually had something to sell and place to sell it.

What are your top recommendations for new store owners?

Have a clear vision of what you want the store to look like. GREATS was very clear on the aesthetic and it made the store development go as smooth as it can.

There are always challenges but if you have a clear idea of what the store should look like it will help define the flow of the site and all the other logistical stuff that is critical for a successful online store.

We looked at all the ecommerce platforms available, looked into building our own and in the end, Shopify was the right choice. We're looking forward to building GREATS into one of the success stories everyone reads about and we couldn't do it without Shopify.
